A stay at the Jam Hotel, Brussels
I don’t think I have ever stayed anywhere like the Jam Hotel before……and it was just as much fun as it looks! I would go so far as to say I felt pretty hip staying there (I realise just by using the word ‘hip’ I have become instantly un-hip!!).
We recently stayed here on a whistle-stop tour of Brussels and Bruges and it proved to be the perfect base. It is located in Uptown Brussels which is a great part of town. You can walk into the centre of Brussels easily but feel far enough away to not have throngs of people all around you. There are trams going to the centre from directly outside - very good for getting into town, not so good for noise!
My favourite area of the hotel was the top floor which houses a stylish intimate bar with roof top terrace looking out for miles. Alongside this was the wonderful bonus of a rooftop pool! Delicious pizza is served in the restaurant on the ground floor and below that is a monster of a games room which was a big hit with the boys – the perfect fun den.
Our room was just as exciting as the littles got to sleep in a cabin bunk and jump off the top onto the double bed which kept them amused for a very long time. Meanwhile Noah sat transfixed, watching extreme sports on redbull tv.
I have written A little boys guide to Brussels, featuring all the places we visited during our stay.
We booked our stay through booking.com and you can find the hotel here. The price was extremely reasonable for such an impressive place.
Chaussée de Charleroi 132, 1060 Bruxelles, Belgium.
If you would like breakfast during your stay I would advise to include it in your booking as it works out much cheaper.
Parking is rather expensive and troublesome. I wouldn’t bother getting a car - everything is within walking distance.
